Packed with bold, savory depth and layered with rich Japanese-inspired flavors, this bowl isn’t just food — it’s an experience.

What is “Umami” and Why is it So Addictive?

Umami is often called the “fifth taste,” joining sweet, sour, salty, and bitter. It’s the deep, savory flavor found in ingredients like soy sauce, miso, mushrooms, aged cheeses, and slow-simmered broths. Our Umami Bomb Ramen brings all these elements together in one unforgettable bowl, earning its name one spoonful at a time.

Why Locals Can’t Get Enough of Tokasu’s Umami Bomb Ramen

What sets this dish apart is our meticulous crafting process. At Tokasu, our chefs begin by simmering a slow-cooked broth made from chicken, pork bones, kombu (kelp), and shiitake mushrooms for over 10 hours. This forms the heart of the Umami Bomb.

We layer that broth with our house-blended miso tare, garlic oil, and a touch of truffle essence for that extra punch of richness. Topped with melt-in-your-mouth chashu pork, soft-boiled marinated egg (ajitama), bamboo shoots, crispy garlic chips, and green onions — every bite is a burst of satisfaction.

And don’t worry — we also offer a vegetarian version with miso broth, tofu, and roasted mushrooms for plant-based ramen lovers in Mississauga.

Came here for a nice Sunday lunch. They jus had a quick rush. But the server greeted and acknowledged us. We were in no rush. He did a pretty amazing clean and tidy up. And sat us and told us about the restaurant. I knew what I wanted and my girlfriend took some time to look at the full menu. We started of with a cocktail and some skewer appetizers. They were really good. And Tham out entrée came out. I loved the brothe that came with my hainanese chicken. Will come back again.

Harry was good! The taste is good but would recommend to add a bit more protein in the food to make it more filling.
Devi was an amazing person. Food was great as well. One of the best ramen in Mississauga

Drove by this place a few times and finally decided to give it a try - we weren’t disappointed. We both ordered the Neraka Black Laksa and a side of wings to share. There were some reviews saying that the ramen was too salty so we decided to save that for a future taste test.If you like things spicy, the regular spice option would be too mild, would recommend choosing the spicier level. You can choose between chicken and pork and the server recommended the pork. On the first bite, I said “wow” out loud because it was an explosion of flavour. There were also a lot of noodles and soup, it was very filling for the price. The soup wasn’t overly heavy/rich and struck a good balance. The only thing I’d want is maybe just one more piece of the meat.Chicken wings were cooked well and I enjoyed them.🍜Neraka Black Laksa ($20.99)Black garlic chicken laksa broth with chili oil, miso, pork, 2 types of noodles, sprouts🐓 Chicken wings ($14.99 - 1lb)I chose the black pepper and salt option but they have a couple other flavours to choose from

The restaurant was really nice with a good selection of vegetarian options and kid friendly meals and portion sizes as well. I'm always on the lookout for vegetarian ramen places. I got the kinoka mizumi vegetarian ramen and it was delicious. Devi was very helpful and suggested good options for us and she was awesome. Wonderful experience overall.

Nice clean contemporary style restaurant. Plenty of seating when we went on Saturday for lunch, maybe because it's in an industrial business area? Harry was very friendly and courteous. Ordered spicy chicken Coconut laksa and it had good heat that I enjoy, husband ordered same thing in regular as he cannot handle the spicy soup. Mushroom gyoza was very enjoyable. Laksa has two different type of noodles (white and yellow) in it. Parking might be a challenge though because there is a walk in clinic beside.

My family’s first time trying this restaurant and we had a great experience! My sister and her boyfriend have food accommodations and the waiter, Henry, took the time to answer their questions, ensure our orders were good before sending to the kitchen, and informed it’s cheaper to order combos instead of ordering individual appetizers! Henry made the experience at the restaurant great and we are planning on coming back 😊
Came here to get some dinner with my partner after some shopping. We got seated right away and even though there was only one server at the time we got served water very quickly and got our orders taken shortly after. The food was delicious and I found that my ramen had a very rich broth so it was very filling. If you enjoy ramen this is definitely a place to visit and try out!
